Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit our Web site.
Well after a quite a successful & busy year of exhibitions
things have now quietened down. We had "Swinlees" winning a
trophy at the AMRSS show in February and followed by "Kirkcudbe"
winning 2 trophies at Bonnybridge MRC's show in October.
Back at the club house, "Anvilton" has been re-erected
in its full 16ft form after its outing to Falkirk and work will start
to titivate it again after the New Year for its outing to the AMRSS show
at the SECC in February.
"Swinlees" has been re-erected to allow the non-DCC trains to
be run again but work is still continuing on our next '00' gauge layout
which will be DCC. Mike Bartle's "Griffen Dock" is still erected
in it's place to let our members play with a DCC layout.
Work is progressing well on the brand new replacement '0' gauge test track
which is being constructed for use at the various '0' gauge meetings throughout
the year. Track has been laid on the portion that is erected and is partially
wired. Its first outing is scheduled for the Troon '0' gauge meeting in
April.
If you thing all this must take up a lot of space, "Kirkcudbe"
is stored in its rack in the central operating space of "Ballochmill"
with the half of the new test track being worked on in some of the remaining
space which leaves enough room for 2 members to operate "Ballochmill"
As mentioned last time, that we had purchased the late "Bert"
Collington's N gauge layout of "Mauchline" station with its
"Ballochmyle" viaduct, this is presently being stored in the
space behind "Anviltion" and the new "HO" layout is
now stored until we can find some space to re-erect both of them fully
to allow them to be worked on for future display it to the public.
Our small '00' layout "Middleton" has now been
sold off to a member.
See our events page for full details and please keep watching the events
page for updates.
If you have been missing Peter Drummond's photos od "real" trains,
don't worry, I have been sorting through all the photos Peter has given
me and a still working out which I have used and which are still available
so I can rebuild these pages, so keep watching.
